East China’s Jiangsu province held on Wednesday a virtual meeting on the promotion of high quality cultural development. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Wu Zhenglong and Governor Xu Kunlin gave written instructions. Zhang Aijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, delivered a speech. Vice Governor Ma Xin presided over the meeting.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized in his instructions that government departments at all levels in the province must adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adhere to the guidance of socialist core values, and adhere to the people-centered development philosophy.
He asked the province to insist on putting social benefits in the first place, organically integrating social benefits and economic benefits, adhere to innovation-driven, technological empowerment, integrated development, and regional synergy, continuously deepen the supply-side structural reform in the cultural field, and promote the high quality development of the province's cultural industry so as to welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with practical actions.
In his written instructions, Xu Kunlin pointed out that all local government departments should take the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and coordinate the transformation and upgrading of traditional business formats and the development and expansion of new business formats under the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee.
He asked the province's cultural industry to focus on the cultivation of market players, promote the innovative development and integrated development of the cultural industry with higher standards, greater efforts and more practical measures, and strive to build the cultural industry into an important pillar of Jiangsu's national economy.
