Jiangsu recently released an implementation plan to further promote the construction of agricultural digitalization during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period in a bid to take digitalization as a key production element, promote the digital transformation and upgrading of agriculture and rural revitalization, and accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
Jiangsu will implement the construction of digital benchmarking of farms, digital upgrading of parks, and industrial digitalization to enhance chain efficiency, focusing on leading industries such as high-quality grain and oil, large-scale livestock and poultry, characteristic aquatic products, and green fruits and vegetables.
The province will also promote the wide application of intelligent agricultural machinery equipment and technologies such as environmental monitoring and control, precision feeding, and tail water treatment in the fields of planting, animal husbandry, and fishery. It will help optimize and upgrade the modern agricultural industry chain.
Jiangsu will also integrate the strengths of family farms, farmers' cooperatives, and professional companies to build a cloud platform for socialized services for agricultural production, form a new "one-stop" service model, and gradually improve cloud service capabilities in market information, agricultural supplies, and remote training on agricultural product marketing networks, support more small farmers to enter the track of modern agricultural development.
Efforts will be made to strengthen the intelligent upgrading of rural infrastructure, continue to promote the construction of 5G networks, and continuously improve network performance and service capabilities in rural areas in a bid to ensure the digitization of agricultural production and farmers' lives.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu will strive to build 100 smart parks led by digital innovation, 200 digital farms, farms, and fisheries with advanced levels of intelligence, and 10 digital pilot counties with characteristic industrial chains that are fully connected.
By 2025, Jiangsu will ensure that digital technology is widely used in the entire chain of agricultural production, processing, and sales with the province’s digital agriculture and rural development reaching 70%.
