East China’s Jiangsu province has made steady progress in the development of the scientific and technological innovation achievements made by Jiangsu-based universities since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
In the past ten years, Jiangsu has achieved a new leap in the construction of a high-level innovative talent team.
By the end of 2021, Jiangsu has 92 thousand scientific and technological talents in colleges and universities, an increase of 31 thousand or 50.8% over 2012
Jiangsu has 79 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, more than 1,800 national high-level talents, and the total number of high-level talents accounts for 10% of the national universities.
The scientific and technological innovation ability has reached a new level. In the past ten years, the investment in science and technology funds of Jiangsu universities has increased rapidly, with a total of 188 billion yuan in science and technology funds, and more than 7,000 scientific research bases or platforms have been established.
Since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu-based universities have ranked first in the country for the number of patent transfers for three consecutive years. The number of technology transaction contracts and the transaction value have increased from 18,661 items and 8.23 billion yuan in 2017 to 27,009 items and 12.481 billion yuan in 2021.
Jiangsu-based universities have 25 national technology transfer demonstration institutions and 10 university scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases. 16 Jiangsu-based universities were included in the National Intellectual Property Pilot Demonstration Program, and Jiangsu-based universities have built 10 National Intellectual Property Information Service Centers.
