The Grand Canal Cultural Experience Activity for Overseas Chinese Youth Elites was launched Wednesday in Zhenjiang city, Jiangsu province. The events was sponsored by United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee.
Teachers and students from more than 200 Chinese schools from 46 countries and regions gathered online for the virtual travel around Jiangsu in 19 days to unleash a wonderful journey of cultural experience of the Grand Canal.
Hui Jianlin, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the launching ceremony.
Ma Hanshun, Deputy Minister of Education of Malaysia, Wu Haitao, Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Spain and Andorra, and Liu Kan, Chinese Consul General in Milan delivered speeches via video link.
They said that the Grand Canal Culture Online Experience Activity has a positive effect on helping overseas Chinese youth to experience and understand the excellent traditional Chinese culture, stimulate their recognition and pride in their home country, promote the overseas inheritance of the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and strengthen cultural exchanges between China and the West.
