In Tangli Village, Jinting Town, Suzhou, a high-power water pump that was recently installed was pumping water from Taihu Lake to the reservoir on the hillside.
When the temperature drops in the evening or early morning, farmers pump water from the cistern to irrigate the tea and fruit trees.
According to the Suzhou Water Affairs Department, they have allocated various types of water pumps, water pipelines, and operation of diversion pump stations to help Dongshan and Jinting fight the drought, so as to effectively alleviate the drought in the 61,500-mu mountainous and hilly areas of fruits, vegetables, seedlings.
"We irrigate at least ten times a day from six in the morning to five in the afternoon." Xu Zhongxing, Villager in Tangli Village, Jinting Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou said.
At present, rice has also entered the stage of jointing and long panicle, thereby being sensitive to high temperature and heat damage. As a result, agricultural technicians rushed to the fields to come up with good recipes.

Since the beginning of autumn, the hairy crabs have begun to shell for the last time. Under high temperature, crabs mostly hide at the bottom of the water.
Crab farmers have adopted a variety of methods such as replenishing water and oxygen, and at the same time increasing the number of feedings at night to ensure the growth and output of hairy crabs.
All parts of Jiangsu have also scientifically diverted water, and at the same time strictly implemented the on-duty inspection system, increased the observation density of river sections, and continued to be on alert for the impact of the drought.
