Etruscans: Lords of Ancient Italy, a special exhibition to mark the China-Italy Year of Culture and Tourism, opened to the public at the Museum of Wu today continue till November 30.
Sponsored by Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, the exhibition is co-organized by the Museum of Wu, the Archaeological Civic Museum of Bologna, and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
Up to 332 pieces (sets) of cultural relics representing Etruscan civilization are being showcased, including articles for daily use, exquisite golden ornaments, statues with complicated patterns and urns in different shapes.
Developing from around 1100 B.C., the Etruscan civilization flourished in central Italy in the 6th century B.C., when Wu, a state in the Zhou Dynasty (c. 11th century-256 B.C.), was also in its heyday.
