The launching ceremony of the China-Europe freight train Suzhou-Taicang Port was held on Wednesday morning at the Taicang Port Railway Pontoon Operation Station. This is the first time that Taicang Port, the largest foreign trade port on the Yangtze River, has ushered in the China-Europe freight train, which will open up a new artery for Suzhou and even Jiangsu to integrate into the "Belt and Road" development.
At 11:20 am on Wednesday, the first China-Europe freight train pulled into the Taicang Port Multimodal Logistics Park. This China-Europe freight train was loaded with 82 TEUs of plates imported from Russia. After undergoing customs clearance at Suifenhe Port, it arrived at Taicang Port via Lanling, Shanhaiguan and Dezhou.
Taicang Port extends the beginning and end of the China-Europe freight train from Suzhou to Taicang Port, realizing two-way linkage with China-Europe freight train.
For enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta, the opening of the China-Europe freight train in Taicang Port means that there is a new choice for the import and export logistics channel of goods, which can effectively ensure the smooth supply chain of the automobile import and export industry chain.
As an inland river port ranked 8th in the country and 25th in the world in terms of container throughput, Taicang Port has become one of the important hub ports to undertake trade between the Yangtze River Delta, the Yangtze River and the countries along the "Belt and Road". The opening of the China-Europe freight train in Taicang Port complies with the transportation needs of enterprises, and is conducive to Taicang Port to better connect the "Belt and Road" international arteries, and accelerate the formation of a new development pattern of China-Europe and Central Asia trains through west and east line transportation.
