Jiangsu reports steady traffic flow during holiday

East China’s Jiangsu province reported a steady flow of traffic during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Let’s take a close look.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, the Nanjing Baguazhou Yangtze River Bridge witnessed a significant increase in traffic flow. Vehicles were queuing in front of the all 14 gates leading to the city properly.

The traffic control department has dispatched additional police forces in key road sections to divert vehicles in order to improve the efficiency of road traffic.

At the same time, the Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge reported the return peak though the traffic remained smooth in general.

Statistics from the Provincial Department of Transportation show that during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the province's highway and waterway transport sent about 2.32 million passengers, down 21.4% from the same period last year.

The passenger flow of railway travel also started the "return mode", and the Yangtze River Delta Railway sent 1.75 million passengers on Monday.

Nanjing Railway Station reported generally stable passenger flow. All passengers are required to hold nucleic acid test report valid for 48 hours. The railway station has also set up nucleic acid sampling sites to facilitate nucleic acid sampling for arriving passengers.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Yangtze River Delta Railway sent a total of 4.784 million passengers, an average of 1.595 million passengers per day.
