Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Xu Kunlin, the provincial governor, met Sunday afternoon in Nanjing with Wang Dongjin, chairman of CNOOC.
Wu Zhenglong and Xu Kunlin welcomed Wang Dong to visit Jiangsu for inspection and exchange, and thanked CNOOC for its long-term important contribution to Jiangsu's development and energy supply.
Wu Zhenglong expressed his gratitude to CNOOC for its maintaining a good cooperative relationship with Jiangsu for many years, adding that CNOOC is the largest offshore oil and gas production operator in China, with strong strength and advanced technology.
He hoped that CNOOC would strengthen all-round cooperation with Jiangsu in energy security, green shipping, green and clean energy industry development, transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and green and low-carbon development, invest in more major projects, and further implement and deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement so as to make new and greater contributions to achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, implementing major national strategies, and serving the overall development of the country.
The CPC provincial chief said Jiangsu will continue to build a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized first-class business environment, and go all out to create better conditions for the high-quality development of CNOOC in Jiangsu.
Wang Dongjin thanked Jiangsu Province for its long-term strong support for CNOOC's development. He said that CNOOC will give full play to its own advantages, continue to increase investment in Jiangsu, and deepen mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in areas such as natural gas supply guarantee, comprehensive energy development and utilization, carbon peaking and carbon neutralization, and make new contributions to the high-quality development and modernization of Jiangsu.
