East China’s Jiangsu province has continuously strengthened the relatively high growth of industrial investment by promoting the construction of 450 major provincial industrial investment projects ahead of schedule, and making advanced manufacturing projects the engine of economic growth.
The 16GW high-efficiency solar cell project invested by Trina Solar at a cost of 8 billion yuan in Yancheng Economic Development Zone has entered full production and sales this year. The 210mm silicon wafer battery, the world's largest of its kind, is rolling off the assembly line.
This large-size battery is manufactured by adopting an innovative density version design, with a maximum power of more than 600W, and a mass production conversion efficiency of 21.6%, which is the industry's leading level. Its energy consumption per MW unit cell production is more than 10% lower than the current industry level.
The operation of new projects launched by photovoltaic giants including Trina Solar and Canadian Solar has enabled Jiangsu’s photovoltaic industry to maintain its leading position in the country and the world so that the province’s production and sales have increased by more than 70% since the start of this year with the profit growth more than doubled.
The State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company took the lead in starting the construction of 260 new energy vehicle swap stations in Nanjing, and promoted 20 thousand new energy vehicles in the battery swap mode, including 5,000 new energy heavy trucks.
From January to August, the province's industrial investment increased by 11.2% year-on-year, 0.7 percentage points higher than the national level. Manufacturing investment increased by 11.8% year-on-year, 1.8 percentage points higher than the national level.
As of the end of August, 450 provincial-level major industrial projects had completed 76% of the annual planned investment, 9.3 percentage points ahead of schedule. 156 of the 169 major industrial projects have been started, with an operating rate of 92.3%.
