The 4th Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo ended in Suzhou on Sunday. Let’s take a close look.
The number of participating cities and enterprises has increased from the previous Canal Tourism Expos. The six themed exhibitions attracted more than 4,000 people from 72 domestic cities and more than 900 institutions. The number of exhibitors from outside the province increased significantly, accounting for 65% of the total.
The Canal Tourism Expo has built a cultural and tourism integration development platform, a selected cultural tourism promotion platform, and a better life sharing platform for the cities along the Grand Canal so that it has gradually become a landmark project in the construction of the Grand Canal National Cultural Park and a Grand Canal Cultural Tourism with important international and domestic influence.
"The Grand Canal Tourism Expo highlights the cultural and tourism characteristics of different cities just like the bright pearls on a river belt forming a series of them,so that it is easy to form a driving force. The cities along the Grand Canal need to form regional cooperation to jointly promote external marketing and show the cultural and tourism charm of the Jiangsu section of the Grand Canal." Cao Fangdong, Professor, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, Nanjing Normal University said.
According to incomplete statistics, nearly 100 thousand visitors entered the sites of the six themed exhibitions of the Canal Tourism Expo with the number of online audience exceeding 370 million.
On-site intentional transaction amounted to 40 million yuan. The online intentional transaction volume reached 146 million yuan.
