Governor Xu Kunlin addressed the International Consultation Conference on Jiangsu's Open, Innovative and Development when attending Saturday in Shanghai the ongoing 5th China International Import Expo.
With the theme of "ensuring smooth supply chain and promoting industrial chain cooperation", senior executives of Siemens, Sinoflex, Johnson&Johnson, AstraZeneca, UPM Huichuan, Yihai Kerry and other multinational companies made speeches and put forward suggestions.
Xu Kunlin said that the 20th National Congress of the CPC mapped out a grand blueprint for promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization.
He said that he was very happy to share his friendship of cooperation and discuss development plans with friends both old and new.
The governor said for a long time, a large number of foreign-funded enterprises, represented by transnational corporations, have chosen to invest in Jiangsu. While realizing their own development, they have made important contributions to Jiangsu's economic and social development, scientific and technological innovation, industrial upgrading and opening up.
Xu Kunlin pointed out that since this year, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, Jiangsu has calmly responded to various difficulties and challenges, unswervingly promoted high-quality development, and effectively stabilized the economic fundamentals.
Jiangsu will thoroughly study and implement the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the Fifth International Expo, comprehensively strengthen the cooperation of the industrial chain supply chain with multinational companies, deepen the cooperation of high-level scientific and technological innovation, work together to promote the digital transformation of the industry, jointly promote green and low-carbon development, and jointly create an international first-class business environment.
Governor Xu welcomed entrepreneurs to further invest in more high-quality projects in Jiangsu, share the opportunities of China's big market, institutional opening, and deepening international cooperation, and create a bright future of openness and prosperity.
Xu Kunlin visited the Jiangsu People to People Exchange Exhibition Area and the booths of Merck Sharp & Dohme, Samsung, Panasonic, and Bosi Home Appliance. He also attended the signing of projects between AstraZeneca and Wuxi and Taizhou, and the signing of strategic cooperation between Nantong and Merck.
