East China's Jiangsu province ranks first in the country in terms of the total number of national advanced manufacturing clusters by taking 4 seats out of the total 20 national level teams, according to the list of winners of the third round of advanced manufacturing cluster finals released recently by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The four industrial clusters in Jiangsu are marine engineering equipment and high-tech ship clusters in Nantong, Taizhou and Yangzhou, biomedical and high-end medical equipment clusters in Suzhou, biomedical clusters in Taizhou, Lianyungang and Wuxi, and high-end textile clusters in Suzhou, Wuxi and Nantong.
So far, Jiangsu has 10 national advanced manufacturing clusters, ranking first in China.
As a major manufacturing province, Jiangsu took the lead in issuing relevant guidance in the country as early as 2018, making 13 advanced manufacturing clusters as key cultivation targets and building an "industrial aircraft carrier".
During the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" period, Jiangsu will continue to comprehensively deploy and promote the cultivation of advanced manufacturing clusters as the "No. 1" project and the leading project, and build an integrated cluster cooperation network in a bid to promote the construction of high-quality manufacturing development demonstration area, give play to the role of technological transformation in promoting cluster development, improve the level of digital, intelligent and green market players, and strive to build industrial aircraft carriers more resilient and competitive.
