In a panel discussion on Tuesday with Nantong’s deputies to the Provincial People’s Congress, Xu Kulin, governor of Jiangsu, asked Nantong to play a key role in deepening industrial transformation and regional cooperation.
Xu Kunlin said that the 13th Provincial People's Congress and its Standing Committee have always adhered to the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensively studied and implemented the spirit of the 19th and 20th CPC National Congress, conscientiously fulfilled the responsibilities entrusted by the Constitution and laws, effectively developed the whole-process people's democracy, effectively escorted economic and social development and improved people's livelihood.
The Provincial Court and the Provincial Procuratorate have thoroughly implemented the Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, continued to consolidate and deepen the achievements of the rectification of the education of the political and legal team, and insisted on providing high-quality judicial services for high-quality development, maintaining social stability, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people, so that the people can more truly feel that fairness and justice in their daily life.
Noting that Nantong lies close to the Yangtze River and the Yellow Sea and adjacent to Shanghai, making it at the intersection of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yellow Sea Economic Belt, Xu Kunlin said many national strategies have brought opportunities, making Nantong of important position in the province’s overall development.
The governor hoped that Nantong will better play the important role in the Yangtze River Delta integration, strive to create an important growth pole for high-quality development, achieve greater breakthroughs in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, develop and expand the key element of manufacturing, promote the strengthening of strategic emerging industries, and build a new high-end manufacturing center with international competitiveness in the Yangtze River Delta.
Xu Kunlin asked Nantong to further deepen regional cooperation, seek further integration into Shanghai and southern Jiangsu in a deeper and broader field, promote industrial cooperation across the Yangtze River, boost the integrated development of industry and urban construction, and accelerate the building of an international comprehensive transportation hub in the world.
