East China’s Jiangsu province created 113 thousand urban jobs in January, accounting for one tenth of the national total and ranking first among all the provincial-level regions in the country.
24.23 million migrant workers were employed in Jiangsu last year, and 11.35 million returned home before the Spring Festival. As of Wednesday, 22.03 million of them had returned to Jiangsu for work.
Although more than 2.2 million migrant workers have not yet returned to Jiangsu, another 1.85 million migrant workers who originally worked in other provinces and the rural labor force in the province have chosen to work in Jiangsu.
"The wages here are acceptable. I have brought over ten fellow townsmen to come here for employment," said a migrant worker from Yunnan.
"With the strong support and help of the government's project fund application, talent introduction and other policies, we resumed work on the sixth day of the first lunar month and all employees are on duty for production. We strive to achieve a good start in the first quarter," said Yan Changhuai, Executive Vice President of Jiangsu Shanmiao Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd..
Colleges and universities across the country have started to offer campus recruitment for would-be graduates.
At the job fair held at Nanjing Normal University on Thursday, 30 high-quality enterprises provided job vacancies with decent salaries such as accounting, translation, management and education, and 810 fresh graduates reached initial employment intention.
"The company has invested a new factory this year, so we need to recruit 30-40 workers. The job vacancies are mostly concentrated in the research and development of production equipment and technology," said Chen Jian, Manager of Human Resources Department of Nanjing Sate Technology Development Co., Ltd..
According to latest statistics, the job vacancies provided by public employment service agencies at all levels in Jiangsu increased by 13.3% year-on-year in February, and the job vacancies provided by human resources recruitment agencies increased by 15.5% year-on-year. As of Wednesday, enterprises in Jiangsu have recruited 20.52 million people, an increase of 120 thousand over the same period last year.
