Some new laws and regulations have taken effect in Jiangsu since March 1st.

The Measures regulate the operation behavior of bank and insurance institutions and protect the eight basic rights of consumers, including regulating product design, information disclosure and sales behavior, prohibiting misleading propaganda, forced bundling and tying, unreasonable charges and other behaviors, and protecting consumers' right to know, independent choice and fair trade.
On March 1, the Opinions of Jiangsu Province on Implementing the Regulations on the Management of Ecological Environment Damage Compensation was officially implemented.
According to the Opinions, the provincial government and prefecture-level municipal government designate relevant departments or institutions to be responsible for and guide the work of ecological environment damage compensation of the system.
The Regulations on the Prevention and Control of Ship Pollution in the Yangtze River was officially implemented on March 1. The regulations specify in detail the prevention and control of water pollution, air pollution, operational activities pollution, emergency disposal of pollution accidents, and regional cooperation of navigation, berthing, and operating vessels in the Yangtze River.
