The Provincial Work and Production Safety Committee held a plenary meeting on Monday with a view to promoting work and production safety action in key industries by studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on work and production safety. Xu Kunlin, governor of the province and director of the provincial production safety committee, delivered a speech.
Xu Kunlin pointed out that since the beginning of this year, regional governments in Jiangsu have thoroughly implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, earnestly implemented the work requirements of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, and comprehensively promoted production safety inspections and special rectifications so that the province has maintained overall stability in production and work safety.
He pointed out that Jiangsu is still facing a severe situation of work and production safety, so it is necessary to further improve its political position, enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency, make every effort to rectify hidden dangers and prevent risks, and resolutely put an end to serious problems and major accidents so as to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
Xu Kunlin required a comprehensive, in-depth and thorough investigation and rectification of potential safety hazards, and carried out a full-coverage, pull-net-style inspection of traditional high-risk industries including chemicals and hazardous chemicals, hotels, hospitals, self-built houses and group rentals.
The governor asked all key industries and sectors to join hands with local governments and use various methods to eliminate blind spots and prevent new hidden dangers.
Work and production safety committees at all levels must strengthen the guidance and coordination of enterprises, strengthen supervision and inspection, and go all out to promote production safety action.
Xu Kunlin pointed out that at present, Jiangsu has entered the flood season and high temperature period, so local governments must strengthen bottom-line thinking, implement measures to prevent extreme weather, pay close attention to changes in rain and flood conditions, and strengthen work and production safety during the summer heat.
