A calligraphy exhibition was held Saturday at the provincial art gallery in honor of Gao Ershi's 120th birthday. Let’s take a close look.
Zhang Aijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony.
Among the speakers were Wu Weishan, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League of China, and Director of the Chinese Art Museum, and Sun Xiaoyun, Chairman of the Chinese calligrapher's Association.
Mr. Gao Ershi is an outstanding contemporary scholar, poet, calligrapher. He used to be a member of Jiangsu Provincial Museum of Literature and History, and an important figure in the context of Jiangsu ink rhyme.
This exhibition focuses on showcasing nearly 160 representative works of Mr. Gao Ershi, including his ancient calligraphy, annotations on letters, and communication letters, showcasing his development in art research, literary creation, and literati communication. It comprehensively presents Mr. Gao Ershi's exquisite calligraphy skills and noble moral spirit by presenting a calligraphy feast for the audience and inspiring the inheritance and innovation of current culture and art.
The exhibition will continue until June 24th.
