576 teams from 13 prefecture-level cities across the province displayed their talent and creativity to compete for various awards at the 22nd Jiangsu Youth Robot Competition held in Taizhou from July 14 to 16. Let’s take a close look.

The ongoing competition is a drone programming challenge with the theme of Mars rescue. In such a rectangular arena, various environments on Mars have been simulated. Players need to program UAVs and independently complete tasks such as Mars sample collection, Life on Mars station building and search.

Liu Gaoyuan and Ni Haotian come from Wuxian Middle School in Suzhou City. One has rich experience in drone competitions, while the other is skilled in computer programming. This time, the two have formed a strong alliance and division of labor and cooperation, making them the dark horse combination of this competition.

“The drone needs the power of its hardware, which is the precision of various recognitions. The main thing is that we need to continuously debug the numbers in programming, and then improve the accuracy of the aircraft, making the program more streamlined and faster to execute”, Liu Gaoyuan, Contestant from Wuxian Middle School in Suzhou City, said.

In addition to the drone programming challenge, this competition also held other competition projects such as the VEX Robot Challenge and the Robot Super Trajectory Competition, involving multiple theme scenarios such as energy exploration, traffic safety, interstellar exploration, disaster rescue, and low-carbon environmental protection. The simulation scenario was fully combined with current hot technological topics and cutting-edge concepts, presenting a high-quality and rich youth robot carnival event.

Founded in 2001, the Jiangsu Youth Robot Competition has become one of the earliest, largest, highest level, and most influential robot competition activities for primary and secondary school students in Jiangsu.
