Students in east China’s Jiangsu province are spending the summer vacation through study tours since the start of the vacation. JSBC has the story.
Since the beginning of summer vacation, scenic spots and museums in Suzhou have launched study tour products to cater to the needs of citizens and tourists.
“Every summer, Shuangta Sub-district would organize a reading study tour activity. We have organized 20 families this time”, Ji Zhaoliang, Head of Shuangta Sub-district Cultural Station, Gusu District, Suzhou, said.
“I have learned many stories about celebrities here, such as the story about Su Dongpo, which cannot be learned in textbooks”, Lu Enze, a child in study tour, said.
“I am from new resident of Suzhou. Through this activity, I want to take my children to learn more about the local customs and garden culture of Suzhou”, a parent said.
Jiuli Sub-district in Gulou District, Xuzhou city, joined hands with the local aquarium to embark on a wonderful "underwater world" study tour journey for children.
Many children visited the aquarium for the first time, and the beautiful tropical rainforest scenery has left a deep impression on them.
The Yangzhou Museum organized the "Yangtze River Study Tour" activity. The children will visit seven cities along the section of the Yangtze River in the province, visit museums, learn about the protection on finless porpoises, archaeological excavations, and experience the beautiful scenery and profound history and culture of the Yangtze River and cities along the river.
“After children experience the civilization and culture of the Yangtze River, they will trigger an interest in history and engage in reading to explore themselves”, Dai Yang, Event manager, said.
Students of Zhenjiang Experimental Primary School learn the history of the Party and listen to the voice of history by visiting venues, experiencing role, and wearing red scarves.
“The study tour makes me feel that today's happy life is not easy won. In the future, I will work hard to study and be a good young man who loves the country and the Party”, Wang Qianmo, a grade two student of Zhenjiang Experimental Primary School, said.
