The Xinghan Road parking lot in Nanjing, which seamlessly connects with the subway, is planned to be put into operation next month. Qinhuai District of Nanjing is implementing the urban public intelligent parking project by building 22 public parking lots to ease parking difficulties and traffic congestion
Xinghan Road Parking Lot is located in the southeast of the intersection of Xinghai Road and Xinghan Road in Qinhuai District.
The parking lot currently in trial operation covers an area of 5000 square meters and is a 6-story parking building that adopts lifting and horizontal mechanical parking technology. While saving urban space, it can provide 124 mechanical parking spaces and 107 self-propelled parking spaces.
“Our smart parking company has installed an intelligent front-end IoT parking device in the parking lot, which can achieve 24-hour unmanned parking, eliminating the need for parking window payment and release activation, greatly improving traffic efficiency and reducing congestion”, Wang Hongwei, Head of Operations Safety Department of Nanjing Smart Parking Co., Ltd., said.
“When subway Line 8 is operational, we will set up an isolation fence in the middle of the parking lot to ensure that passengers can come over to transfer here immediately after exiting the subway. With the increase of transfer vehicles, we will launch the phase II project, including installing 40 charging piles”, Song Yongli, Chairman of Nanjing Chengtou Intelligent Parking Co., Ltd., said.
184 photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof of the Xinghan Road parking lot, generating electricity to provide lighting for the parking lot and also to charge new energy vehicles.
