The Jiangsu Provincial Charity Federation has issued a fundraising notice to launch the special fundraising for flood prevention and disaster relief in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in response to General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on flood prevention and disaster relief, and the relevant requirements of the provincial party committee and government.
To provide urgent support to the flood relief efforts in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Jiangsu Charity Federation launched a special fundraising campaign on August 4th to receive donations from various sectors of the society. As of August 6th, the charity organizations at all levels in the province have raised 20.38 million yuan in funds and materials, including 14.38 million yuan in special flood relief funds, and 6 million yuan in urgently-needed materials in the disaster-stricken areas.
At present, several batches of drinking water, instant noodles, summer clothing, summer bedding, toilet paper, and toiletries have been delivered to the disaster areas. Multiple volunteer teams have gone to the disaster areas to participate in flood relief. The donated funds will be transferred to the local charity for flood relief and post-disaster reconstruction.
