A special camera developed by a Suzhou-based enterprise was launched onboard the Star Pool 1B satellite at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province by the CERES 1 carrier rocket which successfully sending 7 satellites into their orbits.
China on Thursday launched the CERES 1 Y7 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China, sending seven satellites into planned orbit.
The commercial rocket blasted off at 12:03 pm from the launch site, carrying seven satellites, including the Xiguang 1 01 satellite.
The launch was the 7th flight mission using the CERES 1 rocket series.
The lightweight optical camera carried on the "Star Pool 1B" satellite was developed by Suzhou Jitian Xingzhou Space Technology Co., Ltd. In the upcoming space trip, it will assist the satellite in achieving top-notch image quality remote sensing monitoring.
“This optical camera has high ground resolution and optical transmission. This product has been designed with ultra-lightweight design and is compact and suitable for commercial aerospace”, Zhang Ke, Assistant to President of Suzhou Jitian Xingzhou Space Technology Co., Ltd., said.
This launch with the satellite "Feitian" is the first orbital application of a new type of space optical remote sensing technology with high timeliness, high geometry, and high spectrum, which can provide standardized remote sensing data support for intelligent inspection of facilities and ecological environment monitoring.
Settling in Suzhou Industrial Park in 2021, Jitian Xingzhou focuses on building the entire industrial chain of optical payload, high efficiency remote sensing satellites, and unique data services.
“We consider the convenience of financing for the business environment in Suzhou, and the policy is relatively good, including optical processing and mechanical processing. There are some downstream enterprises and upstream enterprises that have a lot of cooperation with us”, Zhang Ke said.
