Nanjing on Tuesday held a promotion fair on ecological, green, and low-carbon agricultural technology achievements in the Yangtze River Delta with the joint sponsorship of the academy of agricultural sciences from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui.
37 ecological green and low-carbon technology achievements in the Yangtze River Delta were promoted. In order to promote the green transformation and development of agriculture, many agricultural technology specialists demonstrated their unique skills, including the comprehensive ecological utilization of livestock and poultry manure, rice field non-point source pollution prevention and control technology, and the creation of green and low-carbon materials for farmland. Saving fertilizers, reducing pesticides, and promoting ecological and environmental protection have become the direction of innovation and research for many agricultural researchers.
“For the most part, we utilize endophytic fungi in plants, which have excellent root colonization ability, helping root plants absorb nutrients and crops resist disease infection, thereby reducing pesticide investment, ensuring food security, and maintaining overall ecological health”, Su Zhenzhu, Associate Researcher of the Dean Lin Fucheng Team of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said.
Since the joint establishment of the "Yangtze River Delta Rural Revitalization Agricultural Science and Technology Joint Service Group" in 2018, the academies of agricultural sciences in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui have made active efforts to solve the problem of poor supply and demand of information for scientific and technological achievements, explored a new model of agricultural science and technology collaborative development for achievement sharing, ensured the smooth flow of scientific and technological achievements on a larger scale, and jointly built an integrated agricultural science and technology innovation ecosystem in the Yangtze River Delta.
“We hope that new technologies can be applied in society and enterprises as soon as possible, and we also hope to guide other innovative technology personnel to develop new technologies and products in accordance with the ecological requirements of technology. Our country has a high population density, and a significant green and ecological transformation of production methods will have a better effect on carbon sequestration, emission reduction, and even pollution reduction”, Sun Hongwu, Vice President of Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said.
