East China’s Jiangsu province has given full play to the role of intelligent technology in the course of industrial development to enhance the potential for industrial development. JSBC has the story.
As the central system of mine power supply, the central pump room substation is mainly responsible for the underground power supply and distribution tasks of the entire mine. In the past, the operation status and normal data of each device relied on long-term monitoring records by workers. Since the emergence of the robots, the efficiency of device monitoring has significantly improved.
“This robot is mainly used to monitor the voltage, current, and temperature of the high-voltage cabinet, including some inert gases, for data comparison and monitoring to see if it exceeds the standard. Since the introduction of the robot, the efficiency of monitoring has increased by about 70%”, Yan Litao, Deputy Director of Mechanical and Electrical Department of Zhangshuanglou Coal Mine of Xu Mining Group, said.
All the data monitored by the robot is fed back to the intelligent dispatch control center. The system will also issue an alarm in case of any abnormality. 5G devices can be seen everywhere in mines up to over 1000 meters deep with each device remotely controlled through sensors, wireless signals, and camera probes.
Since the implementation of the intelligent mine construction plan in Zhangshuanglou Coal Mine, a new funding of 70 million yuan has been allocated in 2023 to continuously improve 46 sub projects such as industrial data platforms and intelligent excavation, continuously enhancing the level of intelligence.
“The robotic dog can always stay in our tunnel, and it can also charge itself, which is equivalent to being self-sufficient”, Xu Yahui, Technician at the Cable Inspection Center of State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company, said.
The dark and humid environment in cable tunnels makes the physical conditions complex and variable. It is difficult to fully and accurately understand the tunnel situation relying on traditional manual inspection methods.
The company has relied on independent research and development to introduce intelligent technology into tunnel inspection. The quadruped robot dog also has a cable inspection partner called tunnel drone.
“This tunnel drone can proactively identify defects inside the tunnel, greatly improving our alarm efficiency”, Xu Yahui, Technician at the Cable Inspection Center of State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company, said.
Wuxi currently has 16 underground cable tunnels with a total length of 36 kilometers, and intelligent devices such as quadruped robotic dogs, tunnel drones, and track robots have been applied in the four cable tunnels.
In the next step, technicians will continue to promote intelligent inspection based on the different environments of cable tunnels to ensure the safety of cable use.
