343 domestic and foreign enterprises showcased the latest black technologies for elderly care service at the three-day Jiangsu International Elderly Care Service Expo that opened Thursday at the Nanjing International Exhibition Center.
The latest products suitable for the elderly include a lying-down transfer machine that enables bedridden elderly people to take a shower, a movable washbasin that can be operated by elders sitting on a wheelchair, a walk-in bathtub with its door to be opened on the side, and a movable sit up pad that helps the elderly get up.
“The products we exhibited aim at providing targeted remedies for the specific functional limitations of the elderly. For example, our rehabilitation electric wheelchair has the ability to climb hills and can also travel quickly. The most important thing is to assist the elderly in standing and provide standing training for them,” said Zheng Pei, Manager of the Elderly Life Experience Hall.
Elderly care services are also being constantly upgraded. Elderly care service enterprises have launched mobile assisted-bathing vehicles to help disabled and semi-disabled elderly people take baths without any worries. Service vehicles equipped with professional nursing equipment have entered the community, allowing elderly people to enjoy services within easy reach.
