"Shape of Spirit: Native Art Exhibition" was held in Nanjing on Tuesday morning. October 10th marks the 32nd "World Mental Health Day", and this year's promotional theme in China is "promoting children's mental health and jointly safeguarding a better future".

“Native art”refers to the art created by individuals, children, and individuals with mental illnesses who have not received formal artistic training. The 122 works exhibited in this exhibition are all created by 25 native artists with mental disorders from Nanjing Native Art Studio.

These works have exaggerated artistic forms and rich color filling, presenting a unique and surreal artistic style.

“We call on everyone to understand and respect their spontaneous and naturally endowed wisdom. Most people always view them with a corrective attitude, and they are difficult to succeed. If we understand respect and appreciation, they will open up and expand, which is a very important element,” said Guo Haiping, Founder of Nanjing Native Art Studio.

The Nanjing Disabled Persons Welfare Foundation and Nanjing Native Art Rehabilitation and Care Center have jointly signed a special fund cooperation agreement of 300 thousand yuan. This native art exhibition will last for one year.
