China Highway Society released the country’s practical achievements in intelligent construction of highways at its annual academic conference held Tuesday and Wednesday in Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu province.
Jiangsu has gone all out to explore the construction of smart roads by issuing the country's first action plan for new infrastructure construction in the field of transportation, the country’s technical guidelines for smart road construction, and building a number of smart road demonstration projects, including Wufeng Mountain Smart Highway, the Taihu Lake Smart Tunnel, and Shanghai-Nanjing Smart Highway.
Jiangsu is also going all out to promote the construction of world-class river crossing channels such as the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge, the Longtan Yangtze River Bridge, the Zhangjiagang-Jingjiang and Rugao Yangtze River Bridge, and the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel and the Haimen-Taicang Yangtze River Tunnel, making it an urgent need to deeply integrate the new generation of information technology with engineering construction, promote the transformation of traditional and related industries in transportation to high-end and intelligent, and achieve higher quality, more efficient, more sustainable, and safer development of highway transportation.
