The first intelligent connected unmanned vehicle cargo in a special customs supervision area in China, cleared and released on Wednesday in the Suzhou Industrial Park Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
At the entrance of the Suzhou Industrial Park Comprehensive Bonded Zone, an intelligent connected unmanned vehicle loaded with 7000 electronic components departed from a source enterprise 10 kilometers away, passes through a checkpoint for intelligent inspection and release, drives out of the regulatory area along the prescribed route, and accurately arrives at the logistics warehouse station in the comprehensive protection zone for loading and unloading of goods.
“This project can be delivered 24/7, saving approximately 450000 yuan in annual costs”, Zhen Zhiwei, Customs Manager of Suzhou Weizhong Logistics Co., Ltd., said.
Nanjing Customs has implemented the application of AI technology intelligent supervision mode, enabling foreign trade enterprises to achieve a new form of intelligent comprehensive protection zone that integrates services and supervision, effectively reducing the time and economic costs of enterprises in customs clearance business, and effectively improving customs clearance efficiency.
“The comprehensive bonded zone is mainly composed of integrated circuit enterprises biopharmaceutical enterprises, etc. If trucks carry goods every time customs clearance is completed, the logistics cost is very high. Technology empowerment has pioneered such a new model greatly improving customs supervision efficiency and reducing logistics, and operating costs for import and export enterprises”, Gu Huijuan, Deputy Director of Customs in Suzhou Industrial Park, said.
