Xu Kunlin, governor of east China’s Jiangsu Province, attended the opening ceremony of the 6th China International Import Expo and Hongqiao International Economic Forum in Shanghai on Sunday. He also visited the exhibition area and enterprises, attended the signing of cooperation projects.
Xu Kunlin inspected the medical equipment and pharmaceutical exhibition area and attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation project between Wuxi City, Taizhou City, and AstraZeneca of UK.
Noting that the biopharmaceutical industry is a strategic emerging industry that Jiangsu focuses on developing, he hoped that the enterprises will be further involved in the construction of the biopharmaceutical industry cluster in Jiangsu, implement more large and good projects, add new momentum to high-quality development, and bring health and well-being to the people.
When inspecting the booths of multinational companies such as Johnson&Johnson, PwC, Marubeni, Siemens, and Mitsubishi Electric, Xu Kunlin gained a detailed understanding of new technologies, products, and services, and had in-depth discussions with the executives.
Upon learning about the multinational corporations’ development situation and future cooperation plans in Jiangsu, Xu Kunlin said that Jiangsu has advantages such as a solid industrial foundation, rich scientific and educational resources, excellent business environment, and huge market size, thereby looking forward to various enterprises continuing to expand their investment scale, actively layout research and development platforms, and promote cooperation to a new level.
The governor said Jiangsu will continue to create the best conditions and the best environment to achieve joint progress and mutual benefit.
The Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Booth collects over 200 works from Jiangsu's masters of arts and crafts and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage.
Xu Kunlin said that these handicrafts are cultural treasures of Jiangsu, so it is necessary to give full play to the role of CIIE as a window and platform, highlight artistic charm, and showcase the cultural charm of Jiangsu to the world.
When visiting the Jiangsu Cultural Exchange Exhibition Area, Xu Kunlin learned about the trend, innovative products, and intangible cultural heritage skills of time-honored enterprises. He said that we must adhere to integrity and innovation, strengthen creative transformation and digital empowerment, promote the integration of old brands and intangible cultural heritage products with new concepts, display new images, lead new consumption, and continuously expand international visibility and influence.
