The city of Wuxi unveiled on Sunday afternoon a production service-oriented national logistics hub at the National Logistics Hub Development Forum.
The theme of this forum is "Focusing on Industrial Integration to Enhance Hub Energy Level". The participants engaged in exchanges and discussions for development, and explored the "Wuxi Path" for hub economic development under the new development pattern.
At the ceremony, Wuxi unveiled the production and service oriented national logistics hub. The city also signed a number of major projects, including the construction of a fourth party production factor platform for China Iron and Steel, and the transportation of empty containers for sea-rail transportation.
“Wuxi has a high degree of industrial agglomeration, good transportation infrastructure, and convenient access to roads, railways, aviation, and water transportation. The regional government has also introduced a good policy environment, and Wuxi ranks among the top in the country. Therefore, we have determined Wuxi as a national logistics hub for production and service,” said He Dengcai, Vice President of China Logistics and Procurement Federation and Executive Vice Chairman of National Logistics Hub Alliance.
Six national logistics hubs in Jiangsu have been selected from the annual construction list of five batches of national logistics hubs released by the National Development and Reform Commission since 2019.
Lying adjacent to Huishan High tech Zone and Huishan National Economic and Technological Development Zone, Wuxi Production Service National Logistics Hub include Wuxi West Station Logistics Park and Shitangwan Rail Water Intermodal Logistics Park, connecting the Beijing Shanghai Railway, Xinyi Changxing Railway with an efficient and fast regional expressway network, and a regional transfer hub port that connects rivers and seas.
By 2025, the logistics hub is expected to record an annual cargo throughput of 15 million tons, operate 200 China Europe Asia freight trains, and 300 railway sea freight trains so as to provide strong support for promoting the integrated and coordinated development of the Yangtze River Delta and building a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster in the Yangtze River Delta.
