The city of Yancheng in east China’s Jiangsu province has made every effort to promote high-quality development of foreign trade market entities. JSBC has the story.
Jiangsu Shengye Valve Company, a national-level specialized, refined, innovative and novel "little giant" enterprise that integrates valve research and development, design, manufacturing, and sales, has seen rising orders from the release of a series of technological innovation products with its products exported to more than 10 countries and regions such as the Middle East, Europe and America.
“We mainly focus on outward sales, with an estimated annual sales of no less than 250 million yuan this year, and orders in hand worth around 8 million US dollars,” said Shao Jun, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Shengye Valve Co., Ltd.
In the first three quarters, Yancheng recorded a year-on-year growth of 16.7% in the output value of high-tech industries, accounting for 54.7% of the proportion of industrial output value above designated size.
In recent years, Yancheng has continuously optimized the environment for scientific and technological innovation development by launching and implementing a three-year action plan for cultivating high-tech enterprises, and coordinating the construction of a "technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises - high-tech enterprises - innovative leading enterprises" echelon cultivation system.
Yancheng also seized the opportunities of "the Belt and Road", RCEP, and China- Japan-South Korea Free Trade Agreement by participating in the international division of labor, and accelerating its integration into the "dule-cycle" pattern.
“Currently, we are the only one in East China that can produce various high-end special materials. The annual sales forecast for 2023 is expected to double from 2022, and the production capacity is also expected to double,” said Chen Xiaoxiang, General Manager of Jiangsu Junmao New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.
In the meantime, Yancheng has also established a clear orientation of serving enterprises and continuously optimized the business environment. Since the beginning of this year, the city has introduced 15 measures to stabilize the scale and optimize the structure of foreign trade, organized more than 400 enterprises to participate in 150 domestic and foreign exhibitions, promoted the stability and optimization of foreign trade scale and structure, and continued to play the supporting role of exports in the economy.
Statistics show that in the first three quarters, Yancheng recorded a total import and export value of over 100 billion yuan in goods trade, with the growth rate ranking third in the province.
