Nicolaas was born in a tulip family in the Netherlands.   

　　At the age of seven, Nicolaas had learned how to cut off flowers; when he was ten, he started driving a tractor to help his harvest tulip bulbs; at the age of seventeen when graduated from agricultural technical school, Nicolaas took over his parents’ company and started his entrepreneurial path. His dream is to spread tulip to every corner of the world.

　　China is the original place of tulip. Dafeng City started the construction of Dutch tulip planting and breeding base in 2012. In 2013, Nicolaas was hired as the technical adviser responsible for the technical guidance of the cultivation of tulips.

　　In the research and breeding process of tulip bulbs, whether it is soil improvement, virus prevention, or cultivation of new varieties, Nicolaas always takes things seriously. He would go to the fields every day. He also teaches local florists the planting techniques. Currently, Nicolaas has successfully produced eight varieties and the planting prospects are very optimistic.

　　In addition to cultivating tulip bulbs, Nicolaas also uses his influence in the Netherlands to actively promote cultural exchanges and enhance friendship between China and Netherlands.
