The Jiangsu CPC and Government delegation continued its inspection tour in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by visiting the Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture on Tuesday.
The Jiangsu delegation visited Kizilsu Kirgiz to carry out on-site investigation and give instructions on the work of paired assistance in the prefecture.
Li Qiang stressed the importance of carrying out the latest deployment of the paired assistance drawn by the CPC central committee by spearheading the work through planning and focusing on the improvement of people's livelihood to enhance the effectiveness of paired assistance and continuously benefit all the peoples of the prefecture.
In his first leg of the inspection tour, Li Qiang visited the prefecture people’s hospital in the company of Shohrat Zakir, chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The prefecture hospital has been able to treat hundreds of thousands of patients of various ethnic groups and carried out more than 25,000 surgeries, thanks to the expertise of the doctors sent there from Jiangsu.
Li Qiang greeted the patients who are recovering from cardiac surgeries and watched the demonstration of the remote diagnosis and treatment system installed at the expense of the paired assistance program from Jiangsu.
After shaking hands with the doctors from Jiangsu, Li hoped that they will make full use of modern scientific and technological means to carry out varied kinds of medical assistance, and create a replicable model in order to play a greater role in the safeguarding of the local people’s health.
The Jiangsu CPC chief also inspected the prefecture’s vocational school where the library, the academic exchange and skills competition center, the medical rehabilitation center and the comprehensive training building were built at the expense of the paired assistance from Jiangsu.
Li Qiang finished his inspection tour by paying a visit to the micro and small industry park in Atushi, the prefectural capital, to learn about the production and operation of two enterprises with special concerns for the employment of the local people.
The Jiangsu CPC and Government delegation also carried out talks with the top leaders of the Kizilsu Kirgiz prefecture concerning the progress of the province’s paired assistance programs in Xinxiang.
The work of Jiangsu’s paired assistance in Xinjiang has laid a solid foundation, said Li Qiang, adding that country’s Belt and Road Initiative has provided advantageous opportunities for the sustained progress of the paired assistance program.
Li Qiang pledged that Jiangsu is willing to work together with the Kizilsu Kirgiz prefecture and strive for new contributions to the achievements and long-term stability of the prefecture.
Shohrat Zakir, chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, extended his gratitude to Jiangsu’s long-term support and altruistic assistance to Xinjiang.
Li Qiang also visited Jiangsu cadres working in the Kizilsu Kirgiz prefecture, demanding that they will work harder to fulfill the tasks set forth by the CPC central committee and the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee concerning the promotion of the paired assistance program in Xinjiang.
