A party and government delegation from southwest China’s Guizhou Province visited Jiangsu on Sunday to seek greater efforts in the cooperation on poverty alleviation.
The Guizhou delegation was headed by Shen Yiqin, acting governor and deputy secretary of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee.
Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, met with the delegation. Wu is also deputy secretary of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Wu extended his warm welcome to the Guizhou delegation on its visit to Jiangsu.
Jiangsu is willing to exchange its views and ideas on poverty alleviation collaboration with Guizhou, the governor said, adding that the cooperation is of great significance for the development of a well-off society and embarking on the new journey of modernization.
Jiangsu is stepping up its efforts for the study and implementation of the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress, he said, adding that Jiangsu will work together with Guizhou to win the fight against poverty, and make greater contributions to the overall development of the country.
Shen Yiqin said with the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, Guizhou has maintained a good momentum of economic and social development.
Guizhou and Jiangsu is fraternally bonded with deep affinity and the aid given by Suzhou to Tongren Prefecture of Guizhou has turned out to be fruitful and effective, the acting governor said.
She hoped that the visit will serve as an important opportunity to promote the cooperation to a new height for the benefit of the people.
The delegation went on an inspection tour in Nanjing and Suzhou. It also inked agreement on poverty alleviation with the government of Suzhou.
