By taking advantage of the opportunities of the South Jiangsu National Innovation Demonstration Zone, Suzhou Industrial Park has gone a step further to develop the artificial intelligence industry on the basis of advantageous industries such as cloud computing and big data for the steady development of high-quality economy.
The press conference for the 2018 Global Artificial Intelligence Products Application Expo was held Friday afternoon in Suzhou Industrial Park.
According to the press conference, the expo, to be launched under the theme of "smart experience, smart life" from May 10 to May 12, will be attended by Softbank, Microsoft and more than 200 other leading companies in the artificial intelligence industry.
To create a global platform for exchanges is one of the important measures for the development of artificial intelligence industry in Suzhou Industrial Park.
As early as last March, the park released the Action Plan for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Industry. A series of measures, including the hosting of the Expo, have been implemented to become the magnet effect for the attraction of a large number of enterprises that have settled in the park.
This drone simulation system in front of us is the latest artificial intelligence system developed by an enterprise in the park. With its help, people can realize automatic processing in the fields of map mapping and farmland pesticide spraying.
In order to help with the growth of the enterprises, an artificial intelligence industrial park that brings together various innovative resources will also be put into operation.
According to the plan, the industrial park will not only introduce a large number of R & D institutions including the CAS Institute for Computing and other public research and development platform for the park enterprises. It will also build all kinds of guide funds to provide financial assistance for the enterprises.
Today, Suzhou Industrial Park has gathered over 400 AI-related businesses with the total output value hitting about 35 billion yuan. In the future, it will also make efforts for greater progress in areas such as intelligent transportation, intelligent manufacturing and intelligent medical treatment to make it a well-known source of artificial intelligence innovation both at home and abroad for industrial demonstration and industrial agglomeration.
China unveiled a national artificial intelligence development plan last July, aiming to build an AI technologically world-leading domestic industry by 2030.
Released by the State Council, the plan formulates the key strategy for the development of China’s AI industry.
The value of the country's core AI industries is expected to exceed 150 billion yuan or 22.15 billion US dollars by 2020 and 400 billion yuan or 59.07 billion US dollars by 2025.
In the future, China will invest heavily to ensure companies and local governments to the front of global AI technology development.
According to the plan, China will catch up to global leaders by rectifying existing issues including a lack of high-end computer chips and equipment, software and trained personnel.
To strengthen links between private firms, research bodies, and other organizations to promote mutual development in AI, China will create a good development environment for companies and increase the role of government in guiding the development of AI with policy support and market regulation.
