Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, demanded that more efforts be made to study and implement the important speech delivered by CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping at the symposium on promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Wu made the remarks when going on an inspection tour in Yangzhong County on Friday.
Wu Zhenglong visited the Daqo Group, a market leader in China's electrical industry, to learn more about new product development and technological breakthroughs.
He spoke highly of the company’s independent research and development of key technologies and core components, encouraging them to persist in innovation as the primary motivation, continue to tackle tough problems, master more key technologies with independent intellectual property rights, and climb the summit of the global value chain.
When visiting Weiteng Group, Wu Zhenglong asked about the price of raw materials and the use of smart manufacturing lines. He said that although the cost of raw materials has risen and the price of products has fallen, the enterprise has been able to maintain considerable profits due to the application of smart manufacturing, which has increased production efficiency. He also demanded that it is necessary to continue with intelligent manufacturing so as to increase total factor productivity and improve the quality and efficiency of development.
During his visit to Rongde New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Wu hoped that the company would adhere to green development to achieve intensive production and energy efficient high-end development so as to gain the upper hand in the fierce market competition.
The Governor also came to Tongwei Huantai Yuguang Power Station to learn about fishery and power generation. He said that we must adhere to the development of a low carbon cycle, make good use of the new "photovoltaic plus” model, and increase the overall efficiency of agriculture, especially farmers' income.
In the modern fishery industry park, Wu Zhenglong encouraged everyone to further intensify the technological research, rationalize the market positioning, and allow more quality products to enter the homes of ordinary people.
As the rain season of the Yangtze River is approaching, Wu Zhenglong took the trouble to visit the site of the Yangtze River Embankment Reconstruction Project, a restoration project from the collapsed river bank last year. He demanded that more attention be paid to the combination of professional prevention and control and group strategy, and spare no effort to do a good job in disaster prevention and disaster relief in the province.
During the inspection tour, the governor made series of instructions on environmental protection by pushing ahead the 263 Action Plan and shutting down enterprises that have failed to meet up with the environmental protection standards.
He also called on the regional government to highlight industrial transformation and upgrading and promote the development of green and energy efficient industries.
