Shanghai and Taicang will promote synergistic development in all aspects, according to the 2018 Shanghai-Taicang Collaborative Development Promotion Conference held at the Shanghai International Convention Center Wednesday.
Six projects of Taicang-Shanghai integrated development were officially launched and 35 Yangtze River Delta integration projects were signed at the promotion conference. 16.25 billion yuan will be injected to strategic cooperation, industrial synergy, science and technology talents, planning transportation, ecological co-governance, and people's livelihood sharing projects. Among them, Shanghai Port will cooperate with Taicang Port to build a car ro-ro terminal. Based on the project, Shanghai and Taicang will comprehensively promote coordinated development.
As a Jiangsu city within close reach of Shanghai, Taicang has continued to promote its cooperation with Shanghai for many years.
According to the results of the 2018 China Small and Medium-sized City Science Development Index released recently, Taicang ranked second in the country’s top 100 counties for scientific and technological innovations in 2018.
