Kunshan, which leads the country’s top 100 counties, has highlighted the development of independent and controllable industrial system in recent years by creating four high-end industries and boosting the high-quality development of the economy.
At the beginning of this year, the Security Controllable Information Technology Industrialization Base of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was launched in Kunshan to bring a total investment of more than 10 billion US dollars to Kunshan High-tech Zone.
As one of the projects with the largest single investment and strong innovation and leading ability introduced in recent years, the base will be built into the National Advanced Computing Industry Innovation Center to realize the development and industrialization of safe and controllable chips and the production of safe and controllable complete machines.
When completed, the project will promote the formation of a 100 billion-level safe and controllable national information technology industry cluster.
With the courage to be the first to take the initiative, Kunshan has developed an export-oriented economy by starting from a self-built development zone in an agricultural county, established the country's first export processing zone and become the country's largest electronics information industry manufacturing base.
With the saturation of industrial development, Kunshan has begun to give full play to the semiconductor chip industry by relying on its 100 billion-level electronic information industry foundation to lay out the strategy for the development of chips and LED screens in a bid to push the electronic information industry to the high-end and enable Kunshan to gain the upper hand in the development of advantageous industries.
At the same time, Kunshan no longer relies solely on land, capital and other resources to attract enterprises. Instead, it builds platforms based on the industrial projects, pools financial and talent services, and introduces high-quality projects into Kunshan, thereby attracting upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain to settle in the development zones and enhance its advantage in the high-end industry.
Based on the province's 13 advanced manufacturing clusters, Kunshan is now focusing on building four high-end industries such as optoelectronics, semiconductors, small nucleic acids, biomedicine, and intelligent manufacturing so as to further cultivate the industry's innovation chain.
In the meantime, it has made constant efforts to explore and exchange channels with domestic and international science and technology platforms, build a new mechanism for industry-university-research collaborative innovation, promote the innovative application of industrial Internet in advanced manufacturing, and create a good ecological environment for industrial cluster development.
