The Provincial Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on Thursday held a meeting attended by the CPPCC National Committee members from Jiangsu. Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the Provincial CPPCC, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
Huang Lixin said that the convening of this year’s two annual sessions is a major event in the political life of the party and the country as they were held with a view to studying and implementing Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to lay a decisive foundation for building a well-off society in an all-round way, and to celebrate the founding of the New China and the People’s Political Consultative Conference with outstanding achievements.
She called on the CPPCC members to enhance their political stance, strengthen their responsibility, study and implement Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, especially the important thinking of the General Secretary on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC, fully understand the great significance of the two sessions and actively contribute motions and proposals.
Present at the meeting was Zhang Lianzhen, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy director of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
On behalf of the provincial government, Chen Xingying, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy governor, briefed the members on the province’s economic and social development.
Also present at the meeting were Zhou Jianmin, Zhu Xiaojin, Ma Jianguo, members of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairpersons of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Liu Yi'an, Chairman of the Nanjing Municipal Political Consultative Conference, and Yang Feng, Secretary General of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference.
