Teachers from Jiangsu dedicated to Tibetan Aid Project

  Over the past three years, more than 160 teachers from east Chinas Jiangsu province brought the educational resources and concepts of Jiangsu to Lhasa, kindled the love for knowledge in the snowy plateau, and let the quality education resources take root in Tibet.

  Wang Bohong, an English teacher at Lhasa Jiangsu Experimental High School, was seen giving an English lecture. As a local teacher who has worked in Lhasa for 14 years, Wang said that the local children are weak in English, but when he used the case method and the classroom self-teaching method innovated by the Jiangsu teachers, the children's interests and achievements were improved.

  50 teachers from Jiangsu are working at the Lhasa Jiangsu Experimental High School. Sun Zhigang, a teacher of Chinese language, is from Xuzhou city, Jiangsu province.

  Sun was assigned to Tibet for a one-year stint but he has stayed behind in Lhasa for five years.

  Built at a cost of 263 million yuan by Jiangsu, the Lhasa Jiangsu Experimental High School is now equipped with first class facilities. The teachers from Jiangsu have worked hard to make the school top the ranking in Tibets junior high schools last year. 97% of the 9th graders are enrolled by senior high schools.

  Over the past three years, Jiangsu has strived to make its education aid project in Tibet a brand image in the countrys Tibetan Aid Project.

  The number of teachers from Jiangsu working in Tibet has increased from 52 to more than 160. 7 schools in Lhasa are twinned with their counterparts in Jiangsu.
