Export growth in east China’s Jiangsu province has accelerated since the beginning of this year as the emerging industries are developing new markets with new technologies and new products.
Sumin Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a newly-built private enterprise in Suining County, has filled its orders to the end of the year though it started to produce monocrystalline silicon solar cells merely several months ago. The company's mass production conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon battery has reached 12.1% of the industry's first-class level with both the direct and indirect exports of the product's gross profit adding up to more than 15%.
Jiangsu's photovoltaic industry, which is dominated by private enterprises, has led the international market with new technologies and new products. Its exports account for half of the country's total. In the first five months of this year, the total exports of photovoltaic products reached 18.52 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56%. It is one of the industries in China that has won the international market by relying on the dual advantages of core technology and production capacity.
In the first five months, Jiangsu's exports of integrated circuits and portable computers increased by 12.3% and 3% respectively.
The province’s electromechanical industry's exports from January to May totaled 684.62 billion yuan, up 4.6% year-on-year, accounting for 66.2% of Jiangsu's total exports, indicating that Jiangsu has secured a dominant position in the exports of mechanical and electrical products with high added value.
The 12.12-meter-diameter shield machine independently developed and designed by CCCC Tianhe Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Changshu will be used for the Belt and Road key project in the construction of the Kanapuri River Tunnel in Malaysia. It is the largest shield machine exported by China and currently the largest diameter shield machine in South Asia.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu’s import and export volume with the Belt and Road countries increased by 9.8% year-on-year, higher than the province's overall growth rate of 8 percentage points, accounting for 24.3% of the province's total foreign trade volume.
The province’s import and export with Vietnam, the Philippines and Saudi Arabia has grown at a high range of 15.4% to 40%.
