Transport authorities in east China’s Jiangsu province were organized to cope with the first snow in the Lunar New Year for fear that the snowfall will disrupt the traffic.
Nanjing Gupinggang Bus Station is responsible for the operation of 7 bus lines, and more than 300 drivers arrived at their posts at 4 o'clock in the morning to ensure smooth traffic.
"All drivers were on duty before four o'clock to ensure that they performed their duties according to the plan.I checked all bus lines with security officer Liu Wei in advance to make sure there was no snow or ice on the ground.Before the first bus leaves at 5:30,we conducted safety education for all drivers."said Wu Qingkun, Captain of the Fourth Passenger Transport Company of Nanjing Public Transport Group
In order to ensure smooth traffic, the team has arranged more than 20 old drivers with more than 10 years of driving experience to be responsible for the operation of the first and last bus.
In order to ensure the safety of the first bus, Nanjing Public Transport Group dispatched safety administrators at 4 am to check whether there is snow or ice on the road.
At the same time, the bus group took multiple measures to ensure the safe operation of public transportation in snowy weather by conducting safety inspections on the vehicles, reminding drivers to control the speed, maintain the distance between vehicles, and drive safely.
The police from the Metro Branch of the Nanjing Public Security Bureau, together with the subway station administrators, cleaned the passages outside the stations, laid anti-slip mats, and added reminder notices to ensure the safety of the travelers.
