East China’s Jiangsu province has taken proactive measures to accelerate the construction of water conservancy infrastructure projects so as to ensure the scheduled completion at the end of the year.
The second-phase project of the Huaihe River’s sea-bound watercourse is the largest single water conservancy project in Jiangsu since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
At the construction site, dozens of sets of excavators and earth-moving vehicles are excavating the existing river and filling the embankment.
Kunshan is accelerating the construction of the Jiangsu section of the Wusong River Remediation Project, a major national water conservancy project. The 61.7-kilometer-long project will become the third flood channel in Taihu Lake, and further improve the flood control engineering system in the Taihu Lake Basin.
At present, Jiangsu is steadily advancing 89 key water conservancy projects by completing an investment of 9.2 billion yuan and providing more than 11,000 jobs.
