East China’s Jiangsu province has taken multiple measures to promote the steady growth of foreign trade since the start of this year. Let’s take a close look.

Lianyungang-based Jiangsu Krondo Food Ingredients Co., Ltd. attended an online exhibition held in Indonesia recently.

This food additive import and export enterprise, with an annual output of more than 260 thousand tons, got nearly 20% of its orders from exhibitions before the outbreak of the covid-19 epidemic.

The continued spread of the covid-19 epidemic made it difficult for companies to go abroad to attend exhibitions.

The commercial department of Lianyungang launched a preferential policy in time, giving 50% of the booth fee support, and also providing exhibition services on behalf of the company.

Under the guidance of the Provincial Department of Commerce, various parts of the province have innovated various forms of participation such as representative exhibitions and cloud exhibitions to help enterprises expand their markets. At the same time, local governments have provided loans of up to 30 million yuan for a single enterprise, and given preferential guarantees and interest rates to better help enterprises obtain overseas orders.

In the meantime, the Provincial Department of Commerce, Department of Communications, and Nanjing Customs have strengthened cooperation with Shanghai Customs and large ports and stations inside and outside the province to smooth export channels.

Since this year, high-tech enterprises in Suzhou have increased export orders, stimulating the demand for aviation.

Since there is no local airport, Jiangsu (Suzhou) International Railway Logistics Center has opened up a new channel for "land-air combined transportation". Today, goods here can be exported to more than 100 cities in more than 30 countries in Europe and America by whatever combination of "road, rail, air and sea".

According to Nanjing Customs statistics, in the first eight months, Jiangsu registered 10.68 billion yuan in imports and exports to the five Central Asian countries including Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, a year-on-year increase of 64.8%. Imports and exports to other SCO member countries amounted to 163.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%.

In the first eight months, private enterprises in Jiangsu registered over 1.4 trillion yuan in imports and exports, an increase of over 16%,accounting for nearly 40% of the provincial total and an increase of 1.9% over the same period last year.
