The 3rd Jiangnan Cultural Context Forum opened in Wuxi city on Saturday under the sponsorship of Guangming Daily, the Publicity Department of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee.
Zhang Huaixi, Vice Chairman of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, attended the opening ceremony. Gao Xiang, Vice President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, President, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Academy of History, delivered a video speech. Zhang Aijun, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and Zhao Jianguo, Deputy Chief Editor of Guangming Daily, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech respectively.
Gao Xiang pointed out in his video address that in recent years, the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government have systematically promoted the construction of a cultural powerhouse, implemented the collation and research project of Jiangsu's cultural context, created a number of important landmark projects that highlight the charm of Jiangsu's distinctive culture, and played a positive role in realizing the creative transformation and innovative development of China's excellent traditional culture.
He said the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will give full play to its advantages in talent and research, deepen the exchanges and cooperation with Jiangsu, further strengthen the excavation, sorting and interpretation of the Jiangnan cultural context, promote the inheritance, development, transformation, and innovation of the Jiangnan cultural context, tell a good story of the Jiangnan culture, and spread the voice of China.
Zhang Aijun said in his speech that Jiangsu will thoroughly implement the spirit of the Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important spirit on the Yangtze River culture, and consciously shoulder the major mission of building a leading area of a socialist cultural power with a high degree of cultural consciousness and firm cultural self-confidence.
Zhao Jianguo said in his speech that this forum will better explore, inherit and carry forward the Jiangnan culture and the Yangtze River culture by discussing the cultural context of Jiangnan, better refine and display the spiritual logo and cultural essence of the Jiangnan culture, provide the source of living water for the innovative development of the Yangtze River culture and the Chinese culture, and make due contributions to strengthening the spiritual strength to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
