During the "Double 11" shopping spree, Jiangsu recorded 66 million express deliveries on November 11th, according to statistics from the Jiangsu Postal Administration.
At the Tonghu Logistics Park in the Suqian Economic Development Zone, workers were putting the express delivery parcels onto the conveyor belt of the logistics automatic sorting machine.
“It takes about one and a half hours to manually unload the vehicle. Unloading by the automatic sorting machine on site only takes about 40 minutes,” said the manager of the courier center.
Wuxi has recently put into operation the first "air freight+rail intermodal" logistics demonstration line in the "Yangtze River Delta" region with the city's Metro Line 3 becoming one of the first pilot lines.
When the delivery arrives at the Shuofang Airport Station which is located on Subway Line 3, the courier ensures that the express deliveries can be loaded onto the subway at 11 pm or 1 pm to head for the destination station.
“We have utilized the abundant transportation capacity of urban rail transit to carry out express deliveries during non-peak hours, improving the utilization rate of urban rail transit resources, and ensuring that express deliveries sent in the same city can reach customers within about 4 hours,” said Xu Yanbo, Head of Operations, Wuxi SF Express.
Express delivery companies are continuously improving their logistics and delivery services to rural areas. Mr. Li from Liuhe District in Nanjing used to go to the town to receive and send express deliveries. Thanks to the cooperation between the postal service and the community supermarket to establish a comprehensive service station for the express delivery community, he has just received the express deliveries during the "Double 11" shopping spree without traveling to the town.
In villages and towns with developed e-commerce, the "Double 11" express delivery is even more in full swing. In Ganyu District, Lianyungang, e-commerce and courier staff collaborated to ship 3000 to 5000 orders in one hour.
Statistics show that during the "Double 11"shopping carnival, Jiangsu recorded about 770 million express deliveries, reaching a new high, effectively assisting in the recovery of the consumer market and fully demonstrating the resilience and vitality of the province's economic development.
